Goodbye to Matt and Kourtni on SYTYCD!

Everyone knew atleast 2 of the couples that would be in bottom 3 couples: Matt and Kourtni, and Thayne and Comfort. And.....Everyone was right! But who would be the third? I for one had no idea! I think that spot could have belonged to anyone! All the couples seem to be loved pretty much equally! The final couple in the bottom though was Courtney and Gev! Quite shocking to me! They got some pretty good comments from the judges last night!

So the first to dance a solo was Kourtni! I liked her solo, but seemed a little like the same old thing she does every solo, but to a different song. No doubt, she is talented though! I love her long legs!

Next to dance was Matt! I love Matt! I love the way he dances and I have never seen anyone dance quite like him! It's unique and i like that! He seems like a much better solo dancer though, from what I have seen on the show.

Third was Courtney. She does some funky side leaps! A lot like Miss Lauren Gottlieb! Compared to how Jaimie and Shauna do them....I perfer how Shauna and Jaimie do them. And when Courtney did her fouttes (i have NO idea how to spell it, but the word I'm thinking of is pronounce like Fwa-Taes) and they seemed a bit stiff to me! The whole dance seemed a little stiff and like she could snap at any moment!...But still pretty good!

Fourth to dance was Gev (also taught at Jenna's studio). I have never really LOVED him. He's never really done anything to make me want to vote for him. And after watching his audition, I didn't really like his audition either. When someone says "breaker" i think of Dominic last year ( I have never seen a "breaker or b-boy do want Dom did/does so I'm always kinda disappointed!) and Gev never really did it for me. Well. Tonight, during his solo he did it! OMGGGGGGG! One of the best solo's on the show ever! So entertaining! It was one of the solo's that i rarely rewind when it's done and re-watch it another 50 times and it never gets old! That little shaking on the ground thing made me laugh and that's what I've been wanting when i say something to just EXPLODE and WOW! It was amazing! I will add the link to it as soon as people get it up on youtube!

Fifth and final girl, was Comfort! I never really enjoy her solo's. Nothing really amazes me when she does them! I believe she is a good hip hopper though, I just need her to prove it to me!

Final dancer: Thayne. Jenna loved his solo, but as usually it was just ok for me! It makes me sad because i really really want him to just do something WOWZA-ish (like Gev just did!) and just totally blow me away. I think because he's never done anything like that America just can't fall in love with his fantastic personality!


So who would be going home? Courtney was safe first. Up against Comfort and Kourtni ...Comfort was safe and Kourtni will be going home... Now who of the guys? Of course, after his amazing solo, Gev was safe! Matt and Thayne, so cute, i love them both, they've just had a rough time on the show! Matt was sent home. Thayne and Comfort, Courtney and Gev will advance on to the top 12! Goodbye to Kourtni and Matt. I will miss you on the show...

SYTYCD Top 14 Review :D

So yesterday on SYTYCD the top 14 couples performed not one, but two dances! Why? Well, we're not really sure. Usually they don't have to do this until the top 10 or later. Some of the couples definitely needed the second dance, and second chance!

Beginning with Comfort and Thayne. A new partnership since Chris and Chelsea were kicked off last week. They're first dance was a Broadway routine. I think it's unfortunate that Thayne didn't get a high energy sort of routine like Benji and Donyelle's "You Can't Stop the Beat". He would have done much better with that kind of Broadway. The new couple also did a smooth waltz. I thought thayne did very well. At some parts Comfort did the "Lacey" hand thing and i thought she didn't have very many good lines. When Jaimie did the waltz, it was not technically right, but her beautiful lines made up for it. Uhm. Part of me wants to sympathize with her because she is a hip hop dancer, but the other half says that shouldn't be an excuse anymore. People have done it before. Matt and Kourtni first did a hip hop choreographed by Cicely and Olisa. All i have to say is i miss Shayne Sparks. I have never quite been a huge fan of Cicely and Olisa's work, and I think Matt and Kourtni did fairly well. Ivan would have been amazing in this though and been able to pull it off. I agree with this person's comment on youtube: "i feel kind of bad because i feel like they get jipped in terms of choreography. like tabitha and napoleon are amazing, they're just so different. and to not get mia or at least mady for contemporary is sort of a disappointment for the dancers. they have so much potential once they get the right rountine. i love matt, i think if he had a different partner he'd be doing better" And i think the same goes for Matt and Comfort.

Twitch and Kherington, Twitchington did a Paso Doble. I think it's SO easy for couples to over act when it comes to Paso Domble and just ruin it. I thought it looked it little bit cheesy and just too much. A lot of the part's Kherington looks like she's snarling at him! Just too much for me, personally! Second, they did a Mia Michael's contemporary. AHHHHHHHH! It was amazing! I love how they are never on the bed at the same time! It was, as usual, a magnificent MIA MICHAEL'S routine. Adored it so much! They danced it well! One of my favorite dances from the whole season for sure! Jessica and Will did a Jive choreographed by Tony Merideth and Melanie LaPatin. It was ok. I have seen better (Anya and Danny). I feel bad that Jessica is always getting picked on! Second they did a Mandy Moore Lyrical Jazz. The shirt thing was very creative! I Really enjoyed this dance and they definitely danced it very well! Will just lifted and threw Jessica around and it was a great dance and some very lovely choreography! I love explosions in dances where the music just goes KAPOW! And they do something remarkable! Gev and Courtney did a hip hop dance. It was good! I quite liked it! I thought that Gev actually did it really well! I liked Gev no matter what the judges said! Courtney did really good too though! Second they did a cute little Broadway routine! They totally look like a lost little couple in new york! They're so cute together! This dance made me smile a lot! It was very enjoyable! The little jump that Gev does though, what was it exactly? It makes me giggle! Was it supposed to be like a toe touch? Or was it supposed to be like that? We'll never know. Chelsea and Mark did a Jazz routine by Mandy Moore. I'm sorry to say i didn't enjoy it too much. It was ok. Not Chelsea and Mark's faults at all! It was the choreography. That song deserves much sexier choreography! For what they were given they did well, maybe could have been a little more energy...Sorry, but i don't have much to say about it. They also did a Fox Trot. It was good but i think dearest Chelsea dress took away from it because i couldn't see her body moving or what she was doing through all the feathers! Loved her hair though :D But how was it possible for them to dance with when they go to take a breath they inhale feathers? They did it well for breathing feathers, but i wish she could have had a less bird-like dress.... They are a great couple though! Love them! Lastly, Katee and Joshua did a Mia Michaels contemporary as well. Not my favorite of hers... It was still very good, but the bed one was a little better to me and more meaningful! The difficulty of this routine was very high i think and very fast too! I think I've mentioned before that i like routines where the dancers just run across the stage! They also did West Coast Swing by the champion Benji! I love the little doggie he brought in! So cute! Sorry Benji, but unlike your wowing choreo last year with Pasha and Sara, this was a little boring. Love the hip action going on though! It was one of those dances that just says "I'm just hanging out dancing for the fun of it!" There's nothing wrong with that! But just so boring, could have been the music or the fact Benji wasn't dancing it. Uhm. The Top 14... Vote for THAYNE!!! 1-888-TEMPO-02!

So, tomorrow I will go over how the wonderful couples on SYTYCD Season 4 top 14 did.

Shauna was voted off last year at top 14. Which was a terrible loss. I love Shauna. She is and was an amazing dancer on and off the show. It's sad she wasn't able to go further than she did. She got stuck with unfortunate costumes (frumpy and dumpy) and then with a bad partner (no offence to cedric). Loves to Shauna :D I will be paying tribute to her later on :D

Goodbye to Chris and Chelsea on SYTYCD.

Everyone who likes SYTYCD hates Thursdays. At least i do, and all the dancers on the show. After voting for like 2 hours with five phones, my sister and I put them down when the lines closed at 11pm on Wednesdays. Now all we could do was wait...

We had been voting for Thayne, who had once been a teacher at Jenna's dance studio before dancing with Odyssey, I believe (i might have some of my facts wrong though, so don't kill me if I'm wrong). Jenna had taken some classes last year from him during the summer camp and she loved it. So automatically we had him and Chelsie H. as early favorites.

Back to last night though. The dancers in the bottom three had all been there before (which i think is sad because some of them did well!). The couples in the bottom consisted of: Matt and Kourtni, Thayne and Chelsea, and Chris and comfort. All of the cutest little guys on the show. Chelsea's solo was first. I liked it. Definitely not anything special though... I don't think the repeated fan kicks and repeated stags and double stag leaps suited the song though really. Maybe if the song had repeated words in it, than i could understand...After Chelsea stepped off the stage it was Thayne's turn. As usual i feel he did a respectable job. Which could indeed be the problem with him! During the show I haven't seen him do anything that blew me away other than his audition solo and his top 20 dance. Time for Miss Comfort's solo. Eh. That's really all i must say to that. Her solo was ehhh. I have seen hip hop solos that are much better than that...Chris. Eh to his solo as well. It was a bit of a mess actually. That pirouette he did was odd. His shoulders were up and his arms were bent. If it was supposed to be like that he should've made it more distinct because what he did confused me. Kourtni's solo was ok. I think she is a much better solo dancer definitely. When i was watching her i was thinking it would suck if she got pared with Thayne who is like 5 inches shorter than her. It wouldn't be fair at all! Her solo was purty darn good though. I like the song quite a bit! Matt's solo was AMAZING! So good! I really think that saved him! The judges come back to their seats, which means that they've made their decision. Chelsea is the first to step forward and Nigel, very bluntly tells her she's eliminated tonight. Comfort and Kourtni are safe....
It was funny, I went with my mom to this jewelry party thing and so Jenna and Kelsee were texting me who was in the bottom 3 and stuff. And so we were going to get in the car to drive home when i spotted SYTYCD playing on someones tv. and so i stood in the road for about 3 minutes watching their tv to see who got eliminated.
Anyway, Nigel tells Matt he's sorry for always picking on him, but his solo was wonderful and he was safe. Thayne and Chris are left together, both looking like they're going to burst into tears any minute now. Thayne is safe and Chris is eliminated. I knew i was going to be sad no matter what happened because they were all good and so cute! So now Thayne is partnered with Comfort. I hope they do well, and Comfort doesn't bring Thayne down.

So goodbye to Chelsea and Chris. They made it to the top 16! Best of luck in all they do!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 Top 16

So yesterday on FOX was SYTYCD! So just in case you missed it, well that's why I'm here!

Chelsie and Mark did a hip hop routine choreographed by Napoleon and Tabitha. Ever since Shane Sparks left the show for ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) i didn't think there was ever going to be a decent hip hop routine on the show! This definitely proved me wrong! It was definitely one of the best dances of the night! Chelsie and Mark did an outstanding job since hip hop isn't their specialty! They are for sure on of my favorite couples of the season!

Comfort and Chris did an African Jazz dance choreographed by Tyce Diorio (sorry if i spelled his name wrong). I have to say i love Comfort and Chris! I love Comfort because of her personality ("Nigel I'm wearing Bra and Beads..."), and i love Chris because he looks a little like Stephen Colletti from Laguna Beach and he is a wonderful dancer! However, they seem to be having a tough time on the show! I think the danced this dance well for what they were given. I hated the music and didn't think it suited the style or the choreography. I was kinda disappointed in Tyce... I think they'll be in bottom 3...

Thayne and Chelsea did a Quick Step choreographed by Heather Smith. Ok, I feel so bad for Thayne and Chelsea, they keep getting stuck with bad dance choreography and bad styles! I do think they did the quick step better than Musa and Natalie from season 2! And unless I'm mistaken, didn't Travis and Donyelle do a Quick Step as well? Thayne and Chelsea's was better than that too. I quite enjoyed the routine, though i didn't think it looked that difficult and "quick" compared to Lacey and Kameron's...I think Thayne and Chelsea will, unfortunately be in the bottom again :( Hopefully their personalities will help them.

Will and Jessica did a Disco by Doriana Sanchez. It was respectable. I think there have been some better disco's on the show... I really like Will though, but i think he might get too much praise from the judges which can get a tad annoying after a while! I think he will no doubt make it into the top 4. Anyway, to the dance. After just watching it again, i think i liked it more. I'm not sure about the white costumes though. When i think of disco i think of bright colors! I don't think they need to be getting their solos ready!

Kherington and Twitch did a hip hop routine by Napoleon and Tabitha. Eh. Didn't like it too much. I think i might prefer Shane Sparks just because i don't always like themed dances, which Tabitha and Napoleon do a lot! Uhm. Also, some ugly costumes....Don't like them, but i understand them because of the prison themed dance! I think Kherington did well since this wasn't her style. I really agree with the judges that she brought herself up two levels! If it was up to me, they would be in the bottom, but i wouldn't send them home. I think there should've been a little more energy and just been like WOWZA!

Katie and Joshua did a Samba choreographed by Tony Meridith (sorry about spelling). Ok ok. It was SO much better than Jaimie and Hok's samba (i LOVE Jaimie and Hok though!). It was so good! Katie and Joshua are my mom's favorite couple by far! I really like them and so far they have been able to do a fantastic job at every dance style that they have been given! Both of them do a great job, and neither one is carrying the other. The samba was sexy and very entertaining! I think they deserve to be safe and continue for sure into the top ten! Chelsea and Mark and Katie and Joshua are definitely the couple to beat in this season's competition! Both couples seem invincible!

Matt and Kourtni did a very interesting contemporary routine choreographed by a new choreographer named Sonya Tayeh (with some very interesting hair!). I don't know, it's probably just me, but I really don't think i would call this dance contemporary. It seems a little more on the jazz side to me! I did enjoy it after i decided i wasn't going to let the fact they called it contemporary bother me. It was danced well and i enjoyed the choreography! They did well! Some incredible technique in that routine as well! dang it, just forgot was i was going to say! oh! For once, i think this did them some justice! It didn't look at all awkward to me! And about Matt falling last week during their dance, i didn't notice and he covered it SO well by hitting a pose! There have only been 2 other dancers on the show that made mistakes like that and covered it well: Lauren Gottlieb and Alli Holker. So Good Job to Matt!

Gev and Courtney did a rumba by Tony and Melody. Eh. It was good! Not too awkward and not that bad. I did prefer Dominic and Sabra and Dominic and Lauren more though it just seemed a little sexier and believable! Jenna (my sister) said i just didn't like it because of the song, but that's not true! I did like it, i just think there could've been some more passion! That little slide down his leg thing at the beginning i thought was a bit odd....and slightly over dramatic. It kinda makes me laugh a bit. Gev did very well considering that he's never done ballroom in his life before. I think this couple is a bit forgettable though... The dancing, overall was very good though and i enjoyed watching it. It doesn't deserve to be in the bottom, it might be though, but not sure.
